Dutch ships bypass Somalia 21-11-08

A number of Dutch companies will adjust his itinerary because of piracy off the coast of Somalia.

In that region are increasingly ships hijacked by Somali pirates who use violence.

Every week there are about ten Dutch sailing ships through the ports of Somalia to Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Good Hope
A number of companies now choose to use the Cape of Good Hope to fly.

This route to Africa will cost much time and money.

The companies do urge the Dutch government to better protect ships.
