Conflict smoking in restaurants harden

The conflict between Minister Ab Klink (Public Health) and the cafes on banning smoking hardens.

Many owners of small bars have no intention of the ashtrays back from the table to retrieve after the announcement yesterday that offenders significantly tougher to be addressed.

Koninklijke Horeca Netherlands is also furious because Klink refuses the approximately 3500 small entrepreneurs, who are in financial problems threaten to come by banning smoking, to respond. The league so far in favor of the measure, will undertake during the meeting on December 9 suspected of distance.

The tougher approach that the CDA minister announced, includes an increase of the penalty to a maximum of 16,000 euros. Also, a mayor in extreme cases temporarily close a case.

The Action Committee Bend or cracks, where around 1400 owners are united in, grasp Klink measures as a "blatant declaration of war." They consider themselves to new legal steps.
